The Dylan was designed by the renowned British interior designer, Anouska Hempel. She cleverly blended the period features of the 17th century building with modern, stylish and sometimes quirky touches. Anouska Hempel also gave parts of the interior a strong Asian feel with her dramatic use of a black and white palette, theatrical lighting and furnishings sourced from Japan and China.
The public areas of The Dylan have recently been refreshed and extended by the international design award winning company FG stijl to take the Dylan to a higher level. The Lounge has been redesigned to provide a relaxed, intimate space for drinks or informal meetings while the bar is one of Amsterdam’s hippest hangouts. A new private room with a connecting glazed courtyard provides a large, flexible and dramatic space ideal for presentations, meetings, cocktail parties or dinners.

Many of The Dylan’s regular guests have their favorite room or suite whether it is the exposed wooden beams, relaxing natural colors and crisp white bed linen of the Loft Suites or the warm ginger and tumeric colours, black mahogany floors and Asian detailing of the La Carmona Suites. Some choose the fresh, light and airy atmosphere of The Garden Room with its palette of greens, lavender & rosemary and stunning limestone bathroom while the bolder go for the heady romance of the flamboyantly colored and draped Klasbol Suites decorated in vibrant raspberry reds and cool greys.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Echoing the décor of the hotel, Executive Chef Dennis Kuipers’ menu combines the traditional and the modern. The dishes served in the popular Dylan Restaurant show Kuipers love of traditional French cooking. He has combined the freshest ingredients to produce a menu that is delicious and unique to The Dylan. His signature dishes include Roast Anjou pigeon with five spices and Mousse of bitter Caraïbe chocolate and coffee, couscous with marinated mango and a mascarpone sorbet.
AREA INFORMATION
The Dylan is located on ‘Keizersgracht’, one of Amsterdam’s most famous and most picturesque canals. The hotel is a short stroll or boat ride from some of the city’s main attractions.
